ICXM recently confirmed that the Xbox logo’s removal from the Kingdom Hearts 3 website was an error. It was not an intentional change. Kingdom Hearts 3 is still set to release on both Xbox One and PS4, according to our sources.
Fans were concerned when the Xbox logo disappeared from the site, leaving only the PS4 listed. This caused many to worry the game might only come to PS4, especially since Kingdom Hearts 2.8 was exclusive to Sony’s console. Additionally, data shows that around 80% of Final Fantasy XV sales were on PS4, adding to the idea that Square Enix could focus only on Sony for the release.
Square Enix has since clarified that this was a simple mistake, and the Xbox logo has been restored to the site. This means Xbox players can look forward to Kingdom Hearts 3 alongside PS4 fans.
In related news, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura shared that more details on the game, as well as the Final Fantasy VII remake, will come later this year at a major event. No release date has been set yet, but both Xbox and PlayStation players can expect updates soon.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will launch on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though the release date is still unknown.
